Hainan Island

Southernmost province in China.
2nd largest island in China after Taiwan with 34,000 km2 total area.
This province was created in 1998 and as of now is the biggest special economic zone in China.
The island is separated form the mainland by the 50km Hainan Strait.


Haikou City

A 250 km2 northern seaport capital city of Hainan province.
Also called the city of coconut palms.
2006 population of 630,000 people.
December average outside air temperature of 20o C.

Currency Exchange                 1 RM is approximately equivalent to 2.18 Chinese Yuan Renmibi.

                                                 Haikou airport caters a number of airlines that links it with various Chinese
                                                 city air-hub such as Hong Kong SAR, Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
Air Connectivity                      Malaysia Airlines flies daily to Guangzhou and up to 5 times daily to Hong
                                                 Kong (with code-sharing services with Cathay Pacific Airways). In addition,
                                                 China Airlines flies daily to Hong Kong. All flights depart from KLIA. 
                                                 Besides KLIA, Malaysia Airlines also flies daily both from Kuching and Kota
                                                 Kinabalu to Hong Kong.
